Fog and lamps...
As I take my mind off Financial Mathematics for a while (which is actually an affair occuring more frequently than I would like it to...), I admire the fog outside which has caused the glow of the street lamps to become so beautiful indeed...
So much reflection done.
I should be more imperfect.

I've been having this dream about...
...it suddenly getting dark, and I'm lost somewhere. But somehow there's always a trusted friend who appears and offers to lead me back home, following which I wake up. Been twice while in Canberra.
Just like what Ruth said, I should learn to count my blessings! =)
I don't have many, but I know there're a few trusted friends that I have here with me, and that's all that matters. =)
I will not be bothered by childish marginalising and politics. As Jun Yan would say, that's what makes the world interesting anyway! Haha kudos to him for his positive attitude.
Skiing was a real blast! Long time since I had so much fun in my life! Haha I stuck with Jesslyn most of the time cause she can ski pretty well as well. Though we were totally loser-like when we tried the more advanced slopes =P & Helped Sherine and Kimberley so many times while coming down.
Went for a Bruce high table dinner on sustainability internships at Oxford and Yale. Spoke with an Italian/Polish alumni who works at AUSAid and who was really skeptical and critical about the way environmental issues were being tackled and on social issues in general, but he's really cool and well-read.
Attended a talk by some Major-General who served in Iraq for a year. As expected, he could exude not only swelling charisma but also strict political correctness. No controversy = Not interesting.
Visited Geraldyne's room last night with Ruth and Jun Yan! First time I'd seen an Ursula room and it's really long! Got to know Trina and managed to say hi to Yvonne.
Life is beautiful. =)

Wearing a new pair of jeans
signifies a new start altogether.
Too much stuff to write about but no time, and a lot of my entries got wiped out since the site was down.
& murder is scary.

Went shopping...
...for winter clothes! Winter Time at Vivo's pretty good. Bought a jacket at Zara too! Really had fun shopping with mom today! =) Lunched with her at Vivo's Dian Xiao Er, their herbal duck and XO seafood fried rice not bad! The Fei Cui Yuan Yang was only so-so.
Then we went Centrepoint to pick up more warm clothing, and bought some Prima Deli Mixes - Laksa, Chicken Curry and Bah Ku Teh =D After that was Kinokuniya and I brought home so many titles! Haha yay! =)
The Crumpler shop at Wheelock Place didn't have stock for so many designs so I guess maybe I'll get one in Australia.
If I backtrack a little, last Sunday's lunch was with our family friends. The uncle made me drink so much! Think I got a hangover after that already...I probably can't drink too much else I'll really feel terrible after that!
Sunday's dinner was part of an 04s11 outing =) So many faces I hadn't seen for a while. Lau Pa Sat food isn't so bad after all! Haha I wore the bracelet from 77th Street that Milk gave me for the 1st time! Anyway we ended up sitting in front of Central and playing silly orientation games!! Haha...it feels really good to feel youthful again!! =D I'm not even sure if that makes sense but yea it's really cool =D On a seperate note though, I need to try and not be bothered so easily by the little things that happen =
And oh I've found a Singaporean that's doing the same combi as me! Like how cool is that!! =)
Pack pack pack! So many things to pack!

Farewell lunch...
was great!
Lung Cher, Amanda, Linda, Joelle, Jocelyn, Suzanna, Kok Tiong, Lenz and Jeanne treated me to farewell lunch today at this Hokkien restaurant! Think it was like 30+ per person...it was very nice especially the butter prawns! Damn good! Too bad Devin and Wee Loon were busy with all their merger and acquisition and MAS inspection stuff so didn't get to join us..
And of course I've forgotten to include in the list of sponsored (hee) meals I've had at ACR in the previous entry: the first work day lunch at Don's for the Sri Lankan Crab Bee Hoon, and first boss lunch at this Vietnamese restaurant, as well as the 2 welcoming lunch for Matthew and Hui Yen at this Italian restaurant.
Went around saying goodbye! People stuff me with lotsa namecards...lol... Found out that Leonard the legal head who was previously from GIC actually studied at King's! He gave me a farewell lecture on trading that lasted about an hour or so. Seriously inspirational and sensational stuff! Recommended me a few good books and websites and yea I'll definitely go study them =) Probably the best parting gift I've received so far!
HR manager kept asking me to come back for summer internship lol...and I was let off at around 4 so went to West Mall to shop for some stuff that I will need to bring to Australia. After that went for the jog with Victor and Wan Xuan and then bought prawn mee back for supper with my family! =)

I am over-friendly!
Haha ok that was like super random except maybe for Victor but yea don't be scared I'm just a friendly creature =P
Today Kok Tiong treated us to Lei Garden cause of his promotion! The food there was absolutely delicious! Liked the prawn siew mai which was like oozing with prawns! The special soup was really tantalizing and the mushrooms in the nai bai were fantastic! Hahaha I think I've put on 4-5kg since joining ACR cause there's organized lunch somewhere every Friday for the Risk Management and HR departments, sometimes the Finance people decide to join us. & the ladies can't really eat so the guys end up trying to finish everything. Not to mention CNY department lunch at Royal China and company lunch at that Jap restaurant! Cross my fingers and hope that somebody will break my record of having suggested a 26-dollars-per-pax-muthu-curry meal at Suntec so that they won't keep harping on it and my eyebrows won't twitch and I won't keep sneezing when I'm in Australia! Haha...
Bought Royce chocolates for them today! All of them said it's very nice! Haha and all the MAS people were sitting around looking hungrily at the them =P I think they're gonna be around for 2 months =X
But I'm leaving! Tomorrow's my last half day and farewell lunch then meet Yvonne to buy books and then jog with Victor and Wan Xuan at Bukit Batok and then go eat the very very very good fried hokkien prawn mee!!! =)
I'm staying at Bruce Hall!!! Woohoo! Haha -self highs-

So many things to write!
And so little time I have!
Suddenly I remember how me and Christopher exchanged sim cards when A's was drawing near so that people won't call us and we won't call people and disrupt our revision! Hahaha but that was like so lame and it didn't serve its purpose at all cause we ended up answering calls from each other's parents and we just called our friends anyway and told them about this useless but novel exercise! =D
I got my driving licence on 10 April 2008! First try and 6 points only wor very happy with myself =) It was raining very heavily somemore so there wasn't any e-brake!
I got a new Fujitsu Lifebook S7211 at the PC fair!!! I really like it a lot: Simple, Usable, Reliable.
23 June 2008 was the scholarship presentation ceremony. Met quite a lot of high profile people. I invited Mrs Lim and she was really really happy for me =) This ex-scholar clinched jobs from Merril Lynch and Goldman Sachs and she told me that they'll recognise the scholarship =) Too bad my dad was overseas but I know he's really proud of me =)
Arts camp was a blast! Made me discover what it feels like to be a student again! & I'm so glad I'm gonna become a student again! =)
For the sake of those who don't know, I have worked at Citibank for 3 months after I ORDed, and then at Asia Capital Reinsurance for 5 months! The latter was like a dream come true! Great work, good people, good pay, good food. What more can I ask for? I've learnt that Tian Wu Jue Ren Zhi Lu, perseverance pays! =)
I'm gonna be studying for an Actuarial Science and Finance double degree at the Australian National University. Including an honours year for actuarial science, that would be 5 years. Do let me know if anyone decides to drop by Australia in the future!
Really blessed to have great seniors like Eugene and Yvonne at ANU! They both volunteered to help me with excess baggage. Yvonne wanted to lend me all her books for sem 1 and Eugene said that I could have his room if I didn't have my accommodation ready yet when I reach. =) Really appreciate their help but I'll try to settle the stuff by myself as far as possible la!
On a separate note, a very clever friend has helped me to find a piece of music and a song I've been searching for for a long long time already, both in the same night! =) Their titles are 生死相许 and Infernal Affairs. Like them lots! Thank you Deli for untying those knots and also saving me from public humiliation! Haha...
Ummm & I've been learning how to cook from my maid!
11 more days before I fly! I'll miss Singapore and everyone, seriously.
